1 A Psalm of David, when he fled from Absalom his son. O LORD, how many are my foes! Many are rising against me;
Lord, being a parent is hard especially when there is a problem(s) in the relationship. I know You understand because some of Your children choose not to have a relationship with You. When you find your enemies within your own family, that is a hurt like no other.
2 many are saying of my soul, "There is no salvation for him in God." Selah
When others judge your situation and even decide in their own minds "they deserve it", it is so frustrating. How could they know the particulars. Lord, restrain me from ever making such a judgment of someone like this.
3 But you, O LORD, are a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head.
If only everyone could be more like You Lord. You protect us, help us see a bigger picture and give us hope when we are going through trials that discourage.
4 I cried aloud to the LORD, and he answered me from his holy hill. Selah
Thank You Lord for always listening to our troubles and always pointing us to comfort in Your Word.
5 I lay down and slept; I woke again, for the LORD sustained me.
Lord, You provide Your beloved sleep and You loan us Your strength to carry on.
6 I will not be afraid of many thousands of people who have set themselves against me all around.
You give us courage to face our obstacles because we know that as Your children, You are for us and not against us.
7 Arise, O LORD! Save me, O my God! For you strike all my enemies on the cheek; you break the teeth of the wicked.
You alone can preserve us and dispense punishment to those who deserve Your anger.
8 Salvation belongs to the LORD; your blessing be on your people! Selah
What a gift Your salvation is and along with it come showers of blessings. Praise You! Amen.
